The ironic point is that, for the first 32 years of their existence Wednesday played in the same area as United. I've seen this story doing the rounds recently and I am doubtful  but that's just my view . The plan would be to take the "Sheffield" from the Blades name and the "Wednesday" part from the Owls, making Sheffield Wednesday. I wonder if @dunsbyowl has a view on this.
