Panicking, Shuriki attempts to run away, only to fall over the castle bridge and down a waterfall. In "The Magic Within", Elena uses her Scepter to see where Esteban was when her parents were working on the Carnaval float the day they died, and her Truth vision shows Esteban and Victor rowing Shuriki to shore and vowing to help her take over Avalor. However, the trade visit was actually a cover-up for the ulterior motive of King Roland II and Queen Miranda's daughter, Princess Sofia. Shuriki, Fiero, and the Delgados go on a quest to obtain the three pieces of the Scepter, which Alacazar spread throughout. It premiered on November 20, 2016, on both Disney Channel and Disney Junior. In "Not Without My Magic", it is revealed by Quita Moz that she is not the darkness Elena needs to face in order to become Queen, and that the darkness is even more dangerous than Shuriki. Shuriki's return triggers Elena's memory of the day her parents were killed. She then explains how she plans to use the potion to restore Fiero, so he can help them steal the tiara. Mateo, Elena, and Gabe make it their priority after discovering Alacazar's riddles to find the pieces before Shuriki does. Alacazar also explains that over the years the Amulet has tested many princesses before her and up till now the Amulet has chosen Sofia to set Elena free, and the daydreams she has been having were Elena telling her the time has come to set her free. Returning to Avalor, Shuriki unites the three pieces into the complete Scepter of Night, before Fiero explains that he needs to teach her on how to use it properly. Shuriki's actions were not documented outside the kingdom's perimeter, however, as neighboring kingdoms such as Enchancia fully believed Shuriki to be the rightful ruler of Avalor, and had no idea of the true circumstances of how she assumed power. As they get into the coach, Sofia spots Shuriki's guards take the flute from the boy playing it, upsetting him. Forty-one years in the past, Shuriki sought to rule the jovial Kingdom of Avalor. Shuriki reveals that Alacazar protected them by placing them inside an enchanted painting even her magic cannot touch. He also reveals that a chanul is a spirit animal that acts as a guide to all the magical things in the world and that it was Alacazar's chanul who revealed to him of Elena's imprisonment in the Amulet and how to get her out. The trio then set out for Paraíso. Furious to learn Elena is still alive, Shuriki orders Cristóbal to take her to the tower to deal with Elena for good, only to find the Royal Family being rescued by Mateo, Gabe, Naomi, and the Jaquins.
